Whoo Hooo, The Rain Stopped!!!

The rain finally went away and we went out to play.
No running as duncan is still recovering from his ear operation.
They did both manage to slip over though!
Doh!!
This is a Flora Range just near our home, right in the middle of a concrete jungle.

On The Weekend...................

Had a great day on Saturday.
We ventured out in the windy gloom and caught the ferry, a very scary thing to do on a very windy day. Lucky I had someone to hold my hand! I was reliving The Perfect Storm movie in my head as we rolled over the huge swell.
We strolled over to the Opera House and saw the Bell Shakespeare Company's Hamlet. I highly recommend seeing it. It has a brilliant cast with Brendan Cowell in the lead, Barry Otto as Polonius and Sarah Blasko did the music and also appeared on stage. Just fantastic!!! Andrew Denton was in the audience, how good's that, even the audience was brilliant!
Luckily the harbour was calmer on the way back and we stopped for dinner at the Bavarian Beer Cafe, they have an open fire don't you know, mmmmmmmm waaaaarrrrrrmmmmmttttthhhh!
Overall a great day was had and on Sunday it was back to the domestic stuff.
I really need this rain to go away, I'm tired of living in a laundry!!!

Softies For mirabel

I found out about this really cool thing called "Softies For Mirabel". It's a great idea where people make "softies" and they are donated to a Christmas appeal for less fortunate children or they can be auctioned on Ebay and the money goes to the foundation. "What is a softie?" I hear you say. A softie is a stuffed toy. It can be made from material, felt,knitted,crocheted. It takes on many forms. Some are animals, some are monsters some are dolls and some are even food. They can be cute or ugly. They can be lots of things, most of all they are pretty fun to make . I am trying to make one at the moment and i must say it's coming along nicely. Welcome to June!

June is off to a good start.

Last night we went to the opera house and saw Edward Scissorhands the musical.

I wouldn't really call it a musical as there was no singing or talking , not one word. It wasn't ballet either, more modern dance with a twist. It was definitely worth seeing, it pretty much stuck to the original storyline, the costumes and set design were fantastic and the score was brilliantly Danny Elfman . We were captivated from start to finish, drawn in to Tim Burton's fascinating world right to the end when Edward magically made it snow on his audience. A wonderful night. Go see it!

Things I did in May.

May was a busy month, lets start from the beginning.

* Started blog, (actually I'm Noticing it was late April I started the blog)

* Got shiny new tattoo!!!

* Went to Foo Fighters, still getting over the awesomeness!

*Duncan lost another tooth and the tooth fairy lost it too! :-(

*Did lots of "Singstar" stuff.

*Went to some lovely BBQs with some lovely people.

*Put on three kilos!

*Gave up drinking for a whole month!

*Got very cranky, still gave up drinking.

*Finally did some crafting, knitted soft fuzzy fingerless gloves.

*Started a kooky cross stitch.

* Started "Softies for Mirabel " project.

* Went to see The Wiggles!!!

*Caught a nasty cold.

*Bought shares in Kleenex.

*Murdered someone at a murder mystery party. Yes, I did it!!!!!!

*Misplaced my bloody camera. Doh!!!

A huge weekend!!!

What a great start to the weekend, the Foo Fighters are awesome indeed!!!! They played for about two hours, how good is that!!! Dave Grohl should be dipped in gold.
It's really not a good pic but it was off my mobile phone, next time I will be more prepared.




Saturday we went to the Glebe markets, browsed, bought and sat in the sunshine eating lentil salad, yum.

We went to the taping of Good News Week, that was a laugh and yes saw ourselves on telly last night. Thats about 10 seconds of my 15 minutes of fame used up now.

Sunday, got up to no good. Sorry mum! After all the chores were done we ventured out and visited Ben's dad's work and look....................
It's supposed to represent an olive leaf for a number of reasons, none of which I'll go into right now.
Anyway it's Tuesday now and back to work tomorrow, more later.

Dooms Day Has Arrived ( back to work tomorrow)

Had a pretty good time off work.
Caught up with friends, relaxed, got some great inspiration and ideas, spent far too much time on the computer and enjoyed using my new camera. Over all a great time was had!
I won't miss the bowling. Duncan 75 Mum 30 points, ouch!

Monday 28th April - We Fed Ducks!

Last day of the school holidays today and when asked what he would like to do the answer was.......................
"I don't know."

STEP TWO: Go outside!!!!!

When all else fails, feed ducks!
