Actually not monkeys, apes!!!
Chimps to be exact.
We did another behind the scenes tour at Taronga Zoo again this weekend.
For once nothing relieved itself on us, that's a good thing because this time we visited the chimpanzees.
We were lucky enough to be in their sleeping quarters when they were brought in for the night and the noise is just amazing. They are so excitable when they come in because that is also when they get dinner. We got to watch them eat their vegetables and make their nests out of shredded paper, then they settled in for the evening. The highlight would have to be getting to see the two baby chimps up close, they are approx 7 months old and just the cutest things ever. Unfortunately I didn't have much luck photographing them as they really don't sit still at all!!!
Being a zoo friend is the best and I highly recommend it to anyone, it's well worth it.
